Sacred Seasons

Honoring the wisdom of nature

Sacred Seasons

“As above, so below. As within, so without”

To live aligned with the seasons is to be mindful of the natural rhythms (and our natural rhythms) and to embrace the particular beauty of each season – whether it be the abundance of Summer, the harvest that Autumn heralds, the call to stay near the hearth that Winter’s chill encourages or the excitement of seeing Springs aliveness with the first blossoms.

There are also seasons in our life. Everything moves in cycles. Our breath, our careers, our relationships, each day, each season, each life, the moon etc.

When we come into alignment with these cycles, we begin to work with the energy present at that time rather than going against it – which is where we end up burnt out, frustrated, constantly on the go, angry at ourselves for going against our inner wisdom. We learn there is a time to rest and a time to be active, a time to surrender and a time to celebrate, a time to plant new intentions and a time to reset, re-evaluate or even weed and let go what isn’t working for us.

It’s a relief to know there is nothing in nature that blooms all year long. So why do we feel we have to be achieving and doing all the time?

Come into flow with the turning of the seasons and experience the peace that comes with knowing that when one cycle ends another begins. Learn how to be in the space in between that which is no longer and that which is unknown… the pause.. the gap between where you have let something go and are not just yet in the new.

There is medicine to be found in all turning points of the wheel as we explore the strength held in the renewal in winter, the excitement of springs approach, the heighten celebration of and the surrender to autumn and then back again to the rest and renewal of winter.

One phase flows into the other effortlessly and easily and each phase is important for the next phase.

Unlike nature where the seasons are cyclical. We only get to live each season of our lives once – they are unique and not to be repeated. So instead of rushing through a phase, escaping a phase, declaring you’ll only be happy when this phase is over  or longing for a phase that has passed, let’s be open to experiencing the beauty, lessons, potential, opportunity and adventures to be found in your current season of life. Follow your own rhythm and let life flow, experience how you are supported by nature and experience more calm, peace, joy, abundance and love.

The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature ~ Joseph Campbell

Nature teaches us how to navigate life

When we bring the teachings of nature, the seasons and cycles into our everyday lives, it helps us to begin to accept what is, to be open to different ways of being, become aware of how we navigate different times of the year and how our definitions and past experience of those times determine how we move through it….

You begin to honor your true nature.

You instinctly know when to be active, when to pursue goals, when to be still, when to nurture and nourish yourself and your life. You trust the ebbs and flow of life and allow yourself to lean into these experiences.

Nothing stands still…

When you align with the seasons you deepen your experience that nothing ever stands still, that nothing ever maintains its current state, identity or shape for very long.

Just as nature cycles through seasons of change and transformation, effortlessly and naturally, we transition through psychological and physical states of transformation throughout our lives.

Some changes that are unavoidable, inevitable, and yet very manageable when we learn to tap into the wisdom of nature to assist in these times and learn that there natural cycles of life are beneficial for our personal growth.

Our ancestors marked the turning of the seasons through their observation of the natural world and honored 8 significant days on the Wheel each of which has certain myths, traditions and ceremonies associated with it. These evenings are an opportunity to  We will support you to discover what seeds you wish to sow in your life, when to plant them, what to do to nourish them, how to tend to them so they manifest in your life with grace and ease.

Testimonials

Thank you for the lovely evenings. I’ve learned so much about myself since attending these evenings. Each one supports me in different ways and I always leave full of energy! Looking forward to the next one already.

Fiona

I’ve never really thought about the seasons until I came to these evenings. I just let each day pass. Now I’ve an awareness of where I am pushing and pulling myself or going against what my body feels is right. I feel much more at peace with myself.

Mary

Connecting with the seasons in this deeper way has allowed me to feel more grounded than ever before. I feel I can move through my days in a different way. I feel like I am in tune with myself and to the ever-present support and beauty of each of the seasons. Sarah

Autumn Equinox & New Moon - Thurs 21st Sept 7-9pm

Join me as we tap into the energy of the Autumn Equinox (22nd Sept) which also aligns with the New Moon in Virgo (20th Sept). When we work with the moon, we align our energy with the energy of the Universe and it’s natural cycles and rhythms. New Moons are a time of activation and signify the beginning of a new cycle, and so energetically is a powerful time to re-set and re-focus on what is important to us. The Autumn Equinox, similar to the Spring Equinox is about balance. It is when day and night are in perfect balance again. It invites us to contemplate the ever changing balance in our lives. A time to balance the outer world with the inner world and to celebrate, acknowledge and invite in balance to our whole selves (for what is healing but becoming whole). We can see from looking outside to nature that it is a time to surrender, to release the past, a chance to be clear about what it is you want to do now and prepare for winter as we move ever closer to the darker evenings. Let’s honor the changing season that brings a chance to start again. We will explore the beginning of the root energy which brings us gently inward for rest, sleep, and renewal. It is a chance for all of life to go within and re-enter the dark womb of the spiritual world. This is a perfect time to gather together as a group and receive support to do our inner work, to be open to transformation and release that which no longer serves us. This is an evening of ceremony and meditation within sacred space.

Samhain - TBC Oct / Nov
Join me as we tap into the energy of the Samhain (31st Oct / 7th Nov true time). ‘Rest nurtures creativity, which nurtures activity. Activity nurtures rest, which sustains creativity. Each draws and  contributes to the other’ – Kim Kohn Payne Samhain marks the end of Autumn and the beginning of Winter. It is the descent into the yin part of the cycle of the seasons. Depending on how we feel about the turning within, rest and renewal, dark and endings – this will impact how you experience the energy of this season. It’s an opportunity to learn that the descent in all aspects of life is inevitable so we can learn to go with the flow. We all know if we resist that natural flow then nature will take us there – how often have you pushed yourself before December to ‘get everything done and cleared up’ only to find yourself burnt out! This point on the cycle invites us to be present with that it –  a space to slow down, go within, rest, let go of all that no longer serves until we meet that sill point within. It’s a time for inner reflection and contemplation – to consider what ‘seeds’ will we grow in the next growth cycle, review what we’ve learn from all you’ve done this cycle so far as these seeds can gestate over the Winter, and be reborn in the Spring. It’s an opportunity to make a conscious choice to review areas of your life where you feel it’s ‘the same old same old’. It’s a time in the cycle of the seasons when the veils between the worlds are thin and we can even ‘see’ our dearly departed friends and family i.e. we can honor our ancestors, our elders and those who have transitioned in the past year. It’s also the Celtic New Year so as well as being a time of reflection, clarity, transformation and letting go it also embodies starting anew: a new year, a new journey, and a new cycle of growth and renewal. This is a perfect time to gather together as a group and receive support to do our inner work, to be open to transformation and release that which no longer serves us. This is an evening of ceremony and meditation within sacred space.
Winter Solstice - Tues 20th Dec 7-9pm
Join me as we tap into the energy of the Winter Solstice (21st Oct) just a few days after the New Moon on 18th Dec.   The Winter Solstice where we have the longest night and the shortest day. From this turning point of the Solstice until the Summer Solstice, the nights grow shorter and the days grow longer. We can see from looking outside to nature that it is a time to go within, to rest and be renewed. Let’s honor the changing season that brings a chance to access our deeper wisdom. Let us create space where e can go within to re-connect, re-calibrate and re-charge. Let us be aware of the fears and resistances that arise when we begin to slow down – fear of missing out, losing our chance, fear we’ll be left behind, that things won’t be there when we return. Only by acknowledging the fears can we transform them. It is a time for the celebration of light and the rebirth of the sun, as well as our own rebirth, a time of letting go.   This is a perfect time to gather together as a group and receive support to do our inner work, to be open to transformation and release that which no longer serves us.   This is an evening of ceremony and meditation within sacred space.
